Desserts & Snacks - Strawberries in Balsamic Syrup
Ingredients:
1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons sugar
2 pints fresh strawberries, hulled, sliced
Vanilla ice cream or Frozen Yogurt
Fresh mint sprigs (optional)
3 tablespoons sugar

Preparation:
1. Combine balsamic vinegar and sugar in heavy small saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and bring to boil. Stirring continuously, cook just until syrup starts to thicken slightly.
2. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
3. Place strawberries in large bowl. Pour syrup over and toss to coat.
4. Refrigerate until ready to use (up to 24 hours). Scoop ice cream or yogurt into bowls. Spoon strawberries and syrup over. Garnish with mint, if desired.
