Ida Nemzin says:
Growing up was never easy with me as I always had weight issues. As a child I was chubby, then as I got older middle and, high school was not easy as well I missed out on all the fun a typical child would go through in schooldays because of my weight.
At the age of 18 to 21 I did loose weight, just for a short while. I got married and that's when it all began, the weight started coming on, and on and on. As I got older then the complications came in high cholesterol, high blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, acid reflux and diabetes. I had prescriptions for all these. (Keep in mind all the money I was spending on prescriptions and food)
As time went on then I started taking care of my mom who had diabetes and did die from complications due to diabetes. Watching her loose both her legs was a wake up call for me to do something or else.
January of 2005, I considered gastric bypass surgery but was turned away because of my oxygen levels were too low to undergo the surgery. Keep in mind I never exercised either.
May 2005 is when I pulled up to Peter Nielsen's in West Bloomfield and was greeted by the manager John Bonner and Lisa who at the time didn't know was going to change my life.
I then learned the importance of making exercise part of my daily life. When we say we don't have enough money to join or a trainer, stop and think of all the money I was spending on food (I hit all the drive thru's) and prescriptions.
August 2005, I had the surgery, weighing in at 350 pounds.
Now weighing in at 135, PERSCRIPTION FREE, excuse me I am on 2, exercise and vitamins. With Peter's Principles, I learned the importance of making exercise and eating healthy part of our daily routine. Exercise is medicine, Good Medicine.
Thank You Peter and your staff
