See you there! ------------------------------------------------------------ Peter's Principles Radio - Mental Health Month Mental health is often overlooked as part of  a complete wellness regimen. May is Mental Health Month and Peter is dedicating this week's show to this important but often discounted factor in overall health and wellness.  We'll look at specific mental health issues, the effects of depression, and give you some good information on how to lead a happy, fulfilling life.  We'll also look at holistic and dietary additions that can help keep you on an even keel. Joining Peter for this week's show are Dr. John Dziuba, Chief of Psychiatry at Sinai Grace Hospital,  Dr. David Shern, president and CEO of Mental Health America and Nutritionist Gana Wilson of The Better Health Store. This show airs Sunday, May 2nd at 8 p.m. on News/Talk 760 WJR. ------------------------------------------------------------- Vegetarian Diet If you choose a strict vegetarian diet consider adding some healthy fish or lean poultry occasionally for balance. A vegetarian diet that includes plenty of whole grains lowers your chances of getting many chronic diseases. However, a diet that's completely meat free can deprive you of some essential nutrients. Critical Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin B-12 can be found by adding a little variety to your vegetarian diet. Cold water fish like salmon and tuna, and skinless poultry are excellent sources of necessary vitamins and minerals that are missing in vegetables. So, after you're done shopping in the supermarket produce aisle be sure to do a little fishing as well!
