June 13, 2013If your're overweight and concerned about prostate cancer, take note! A recent study found that men with prostate cancer who were mildly obese had a 46% higher risk of dying from the disease within 5 years. It is even worse for men battling prostate cancer who are very obese. They are twice as likely to die from it! Another study found obesity triples the likelihood the cancer will spread. Researchers say weight did not affect a man's chances of developing prostate cancer, it only increases his risk of dying from the disease it develops. This is just another reason to maintain a healthy weight, especially if you are battling a disease!
