New research shows that getting enough potassium is vital for a number of reasons. One of the most important is in minimizing the risks posed by high sodium intake, a very real danger for every American. Potassium can also help promote healthy bones by guarding against the acid content in animal protein, wheat, rice or barley! The latest guideline for adults is to get at least 4700 milligrams of potassium in your diet everyday. Most Americans take in 2700 or less! Some excellent sources include bananas, almonds, lettuce, mushrooms, and spinach! Talk to a nutritionist for the diet plan that is custom made for you!
